Latin music star Pitbull was at the center of one of the stranger pieces of news to emerge in college football this week.

The Grammy-winning artist reportedly purchased the naming rights to Florida International University's football stadium . College football will soon be played at Pitbull Stadium located within the school's Miami-based campus.

The 43-year-old recording artist had to agree to pay around $1.2 million per year over five years to get the deal done.

However, money wasn't the only consideration asked of Pitbull. He also has a few non-monetary deliverables , according to a document indicating the "Background Information" on the deal.

Three things were listed on Pitbull's to-do list for FIU:

    • "Creating an 'FIU Anthem' that would be played at all FIU athletic events."
    • "Creating 12 social media posts per year during the Agreement's term via Pitbull's social media accounts."
    • "Appearing at one athletics fundraising event per year during the agreement's term, for a three-hour time block."

The Miami native does get a few benefits in return. Pitbull will be entitled to use the stadium for "up to 10 days annually." He also gets a couple of suites reserved for him and his brand of vodka will be sold at the venue during games.

Pitbull also has the option to renew the deal for five more years if he so chooses.

FIU may already have "international" in its name, but the school clearly felt they had to step that up and partner with "Mr. Worldwide."
