    CEDAR GROVE, W.Va. — A Cedar Grove man has been injured in an late night shooting, according to Kanawha County deputies.

    The shooting happened on East George Street in Cedar Grove around 11:30 p.m. Friday night. In a statement, deputies said a 62-year-old male was shot in the lower leg. An alleged suspect, 59-year-old John Lee Herald, of Cedar Grove, was taken into custody.

    “[T]he incident escalated during a dispute over some personal property when Mr. Herald produced a firearm and shot the victim,” a Kanawha County Sherriff’s Office deputy said.

    Officers met the victim outside the Cedar Grove Fire Department. He was taken to CAMC General Hospital in Charleston with “serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” according to the sheriff's department.

    Herald has been charged with one count of felony malicious wounding. As of noon on Saturday, he remains in South Central Regional Jail on a $15,000 cash only bond.
