🎶 An enchanting evening of classical music awaits at the Hill Auditorium on Thursday, May 16, from 7pm to 9pm, as the University of Michigan Life Sciences Orchestra (LSO) graces the stage for its Spring Concert. This marks the culmination of the LSO's 24th season, promising a melodious journey through the Romantic era.

Under the skilled leadership of Nicholas Bromilow, music director and doctoral student in orchestral conducting at the U-M School of Music, Theatre & Dance, the orchestra will perform masterpieces by Sibelius, Gade, and Saint-Saëns. The concert kicks off at 7:30 p.m., but attendees are invited to a pre-concert lecture at 6:45 p.m., where Bromilow will delve into the evening's repertoire.

🌟 The program features the stirring "Echoes of Ossian" overture by Denmark's Niels Gade and the evocative "En Saga" tone poem by Finland's Jean Sibelius. The night's crescendo will be the powerful Symphony No. 3 by Camille Saint-Saëns, famously known as the Organ Symphony. This performance offers the rare opportunity to experience the majestic Frieze Memorial Organ played by the acclaimed organist Naki Kripfgans, alongside the full orchestra.

The LSO comprises talented individuals from the university's diverse medical, health sciences, life sciences, and engineering communities. As part of Gifts of Art at Michigan Medicine, the concert is open to everyone, free of charge. While no tickets are required, guests are kindly reminded to attend only if they are in good health. For those wishing to support the orchestra, donations can be made online.
