Teenage girl shot, injured after fight ends with gunfire in Montgomery County
A teenage girl was shot and injured after a fight broke out in Pottstown, Montgomery County.It happened at approximately 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on Myrtle Street in the Bright Hope Community.Officers say they responded to reports of a fight involving multiple teenage girls.According to police, shots were fired as a result of that dispute.When police arrived at the scene, officers found a 14-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound to her chest.She was treated at the scene and transported to a local trauma center. Blew Appointed Head of School at Woodland Country Day School
Woodland Country Day School announces that the Board of Trustees has appointed Lara Blew to serve as the Head of School beginning July 1, for the 2024-2025 school year. Blew brings t20 years of student-centered experience to the Head of School position. For the past 10 years, she has served as the Upper School English and reading teacher. In this capacity she created and implemented the Reading and English curriculum for grades 5-8, served as the advisor to the National Junior Honor Society, and played a leadership role in multiple administrative committees. Prior to her time at Woodland, Blew held a variety of roles in local public schools including special education teacher, applied behavioral analysis therapist, and disabilities specialist. She was awarded the honor of Teacher of the Year for her excellence in this work.
