New Jersey American Water completes acquisition of Salem City water and wastewater systems
Camden-based New Jersey American Water recently completed its acquisition of the water and wastewater systems of the city of Salem for $18 million. Detectives Investigating Shots Fired at a Hartly Residence
The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning in Hartly. On July 2, 2024, at approximately 4:00 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on the 2000 block of Slaughter Station Road in Hartly for a report of shots fired. The preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown suspect fired several rounds at the house from an unknown passing vehicle. Troopers recovered numerous shell casings at the scene. There were two adults in the home at the time of the shooting. No one was injured, and the motive behind the incident remains under investigation.

Dover Woman Arrested in Vehicle Stolen from Delaware Park Casino
A Dover woman has been arrested for stealing a vehicle Friday afternoon from the parking lot at Delaware Park Casino. Delaware State Police were called Friday just before 6pm and learned the victim’s black Nissan Altima was stolen while the victim was at the casino. During the investigation, Police learned that a black female suspect, later identified as 28 year old Breana Brooks of Dover, stole the victim’s car keys from her jacket which was left unattended at a slot game then went to the parking lot and located the matching car. Brooks left in the stolen Altima.
