    Ahh, springtime.

The birds are chirping, flowers blooming, and temperatures begin their rapid rise from warm to hot.

This time of the year also marks Dairy Queen’s annual first day of spring free ice cream cone celebration.

    What is Free Cone Day?

Free Cone Day is how Dairy Queen celebrates spring’s arrival.

The fast-food restaurant chain has welcomed the first day of the new season by giving away the classic DQ menu item since 2016.

Free Cone Day also signifies the return of DQ’s festively titled, albeit misspelled, “Treat Szn” -- the time of year when plants, flowers and trees begin to bloom, the sun stays out longer and we long for sweet treats that come in a cone because an ice cream cone just hits differently when the ground begins to thaw.

    When is Free Cone Day?

Tuesday, March 19, 2024, participating Dairy Queen locations nationwide are handing out a small, vanilla ice cream cone – signature swirl and all – for free.

I wouldn't wait in a line just to save two bucks ... said no one who likes saving money ever!

The world-famous soft serve is 100% on the house on March 19 only. The offer is available all day while supplies last and is good for one cone per person.

Anyone who subscribes to the axiom “if it’s free it’s for me” can visit DairyQueen.com or download the DQ mobile app to find a local DQ restaurant on March 19.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for free ice cream, amirite?
