    Mark your calendars, lovers of DQ soft-serve ice cream and freebies. Dairy Queen is welcoming the first day of spring in El Paso with the return of Free Cone Day.

    The Texas burgers and ice cream chain will be giving away the beloved soft serve, signature swirly curl top and all, 100% free in celebration of the arrival of the new season.

    When is Free Cone Day?

    Dairy Queen has been marking the first day of spring with a free cone celebrationsince 2016, according to the company website.

    This year, participating locations in El Paso will host Free Cone Day on Tuesday, March 19.

    Is It Really Free Free or Is There a Catch?

    Okay, here’s the scoop: yes, it's totally on the house. You can strut into Dairy Queen without a single penny in your pocket and walk out with a vanilla swirl cone gratis.

    The catch – if you even want to call it that – is that it’s the small plain vanilla cone only on March 19, and only one cone per person.
