A Milton man died Sunday after he overcorrected his vehicle, launching himself into multiple trees in Santa Rosa County.

Florida Highway Patrol says a 64-year-old was driving his SUV eastbound on State Road 4 near Pitnic Road when he began driving in the grass shoulder.

(Driver) overcorrected to the left and Vehicle 1 rotated counterclockwise across SR-4 and entered the north grass shoulder," an FHP report said. "Vehicle 1 overturned and collided with several trees upon the north grass shoulder."

After the crash, the SUV came to rest on its left side. FHP says the man was pronounced deceased after the crash.

FHP did not release what caused the man to originally enter the shoulder while driving.
