    A restaurant from Chef
    Justin Sutherland
will be coming to the Mill District in Minneapolis, according to a press release Tuesday.

The St. Paul-based chef will be reviving his Pearl & The Thief restaurant in the O2 Luxury Tower at 250 Portland Avenue, Sherman Associates announced. Sutherland is partnering with Sherman and Restore Restaurant Holdings to bring back the restaurant, which was originally based in Stillwater.

Sutherland won’t be the only chef involved with the project. Chef Vincent Francoual of Chloe by Vincent will also be a part of the venture. Restore Restaurant Holdings is closely associated with Francoual.

The new Pearl and The Thief won’t be the only Sutherland-backed operation coming to O2. Big E, a sandwich shop with locations in St. Paul and Portland will open its third operation in the building as well.

Ben Kepple, Sherman Associates’ director of commercial operations, said Sherman is grateful to have a partnership with Sutherland and Restore Restaurant Holdings. Combined, Pearl and The Thief, and Big E will take up 5,000 square feet in O2.

“We’ve brought six restaurants into the neighborhood over the last two years making the Mill District a destination for people to not only live and work, but for residents, workers, and visitors to experience dining and entertainment,” Kepple said.

In January, Sutherland announced his departure from the Handsome Hog, a Southern style restaurant that first opened in 2016.
