NFL Draft pundit considers Minnesota Vikings day 3 pick a steal

Only having two picks in the first 100 isn't a great spot to be in for the Minnesota Vikings . They did get their quarterback of the future in J.J. McCarthy and a versatile edge rusher in Dallas Turner to fortify their roster at premium position.

However, no second or third-round picks is tough when it comes to team building. That was the reality of the Vikings having two first-round picks along with the trade for T.J. Hockenson at the trade deadline in 2022. Having those players is great but the trade-off is limited draft capital.

When you have this strategy, it's paramount to hit on picks later on in the NFL Draft. Touchdown Wire's Doug Farrar has been covering the NFL for over a decade and believes the Vikings got a steal with fourth-round pick cornerback Khyree Jackson.

Jackson is an interesting player. Having not played much at Alabama after two seasons on the JUCO level, Jackson thrived at Oregon and earned a starting role. His size and length are perfect for what defensive coordinator Brian Flores wants in a cornerback and he displays it in droves.

His athletic profile are also excellent, which allows a playcaller like Flores to maximize that versatility. Jackson does enter a deep cornerback room but there isn't an established pecking order. That will give him an opportunity to take a step forward early on and make an impact.
