Randy Moss is an all-time great Minnesota Vikings dignitary who knows a thing or two about the success of the passing game in the Twin Cities.

Moss had a strong take during his Monday appearance on the Up & Adams show with host Kay Adams that is going viral, during which he disagreed with host Kay Adams on whether or not #10 overall pick JJ McCarthy should play for Coach Kevin O'Connell's team this season.

Adams said she doesn't want to see JJ McCarthy "at all this year," adding that she believes the best thing is for the former Michigan quarterback to "sit, watch and learn" behind Sam Darnold.

Moss said he has an entirely different viewpoint on the McCarthy situation based on McCarthy's lofty draft status this past April.

"My thing is when we played the first three guys that (were) drafted, they're playing, Moss said.

"There's no ifs, ands or buts about it," Moss added.

"Now, the fourth, fifth and sixth round we'll see, they may or may not see the field, maybe a special teamer.

Moss did not budge on what he thinks O'Connell's plan should be for the ex-Michigan gunslinger even despite the presence of Sam Darnold and McCarthy's lack of experience at the next level.

"I don't care if he's not ready, he needs to be out there," Moss concluded about McCarthy.
