Rudy Gobert Mercilessly Mocked Online After Getting Devastatingly Posterized in Olympics Opener

Some players just can't escape being in the spotlight for some of the worst reasons.

Of all the players in the NBA, Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert may be one of the most often mocked players due to his antics on and off the court. Just a few months ago, he was getting killed online for his defense against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, and repeatedly called out for his poor play on the court.

Now, as a member of Team France in the 2024 Summer Olympics, Gobert is once again drawing the ire of fans after getting absolutely posterized by a dunk from a member of Team Brazil.

Trying to go up and block an alley-oop attempt while running down the court on a fast break, Gobert got slammed on. The Brazil team celebrated as they should have after posterizing the NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

And NBA fans mocked Gobert as you would expect.

Of course, Team France went on to beat Brazil 78-66, while Nic Batum and Victor Wembanyama led the way with 19 points apiece. Gobert had 7 points and 3 rebounds.

While his team may have gotten the win, the only thing that anyone is going to remember from this first-round game is the posterization.
