New road site construction underway on Village at Avon property
There’s a lot of earth being moved on the Village at Avon property, located between East Beaver Creek Boulevard and Interstate 70 exits 167 and 168. The plan for the area includes an influx of more residential units to complement the Piedmont apartment complex on the east end of the property, but before that can be realized, the property must include a new road on the north end of the valley floor.

Eagle County apprenticeship programs get boost from newly-announced federal grant
Local apprenticeship programs have received a significant shot in the arm thanks to a federal grant. The U.S. Department of Labor on Thursday announced that Colorado programs had received more than $16 million for Colorado organizations working to train skilled workers. Eagle County’s workforce development programs will receive more than $1.6 million of that funding, distributed primarily through Vail Valley Works, a nonprofit arm of the Vail Valley Partnership.
