Mississippi Hiking Club to Host Inaugural Hiking Conference

The Misssippi Hiking Club will be hosting it's first ever hiking conference this fall. Spearheaded by avid hiker Jeffery A. Green, the conference will have a variety of events, including opening remarks by Hugh White State Park Manager Louis Correro.

According to the Facebook Event, "The conference goal is to educate members of the Mississippi Hiking Community on the value of the great outdoors, particularly the Mississippi outdoors, hiking/backpacking techniques, and Mississippi hiking/camping/backpacking resources."

The conference will be held on Saturday October 5, 2024 with events on the Friday night before and the Sunday morning after the conference.

Participants should email mshikingcon@gmail.com to sign up. The conference is limited to 100 people and is free, but there is a $2 entry fee for day use of Hugh White State Park.
