Mother sues Des Moines Public Schools, alleging teaching assistant assaulted son
DES MOINES, Iowa — A mother is suing Des Moines Public Schools, alleging her son was assaulted by a teacher's assistant. KCCI talked with Tereasa Washington back in November. She told us her 4-year-old son Ezekiel sustained serious scratches on his head and neck at Carver Elementary School. In her lawsuit against the district, Washington claims her son was assaulted by former teaching assistant Mia Williams.
Opioid-addicted Des Moines man fails to outrun law in Waukee
A Des Moines man was arrested early Saturday after he failed to outrun law enforcement by means of a high-speed pursuit in and around Waukee. Christopher Nicholas Montinguise, 33, of 3616 34th St., Des Moines, was charged with eluding, two counts of failure to stop in assured clear distance, two counts of driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway, reckless driving, driving while suspended, improper rear lamps and possession of drug paraphernalia.
