Each August, a swam of monsters invade Northern Colorado. Mark your calendar for Saturday, August 12th, because Monster Day is returning and taking over Downtown Greeley.

Each year there are costumed monsters roaming the downtown plazas. While an array of activities and vendors display their wares. You will find professional makeup demonstrations, good eats, clothing, crafts, monster makeup, face painting, music, kid’s activities, a costume contest and more. New to this year’s event, a Wednesday Addams Dance Contest!

As usual, the talents of Distortions Unlimited, the premiere monster creators, will have several of their creations set up around the plaza ready for amazing monster photo ops.

So come on over to Greeley on Saturday for some ghoulish fun. But only if you dare.

Did you know that Greeley, Colorado is the home to some of the best monster makers in the world? Distortions Unlimited, is a Halloween manufacturing company that has been "Making Monsters" since the 1970’s. They are the premier animatronics, props, mask, costume and display makers for Halloween, haunted houses, and theme parks.

Their brain-eating hunchbacks, wall-scaling zombies, aliens and many more, are hidden in an industrial warehouse in Greeley, Colorado. You might remember these monster creators on the Travel Channel reality show “Making Monsters.” The show aired from 2011 to 2013.

Since the T.V. show, Distortions Unlimited has branched out to popup facilities that display their works. We had the honor to video one of their “Distortions Monster World” facilities when it came to Denver, Colorado. We were amazed by the detail and creativity of their work. To top it off, you were allowed to interact with displays while taking selfies. Unfortunately, “Distortions Monster World” Denver is now closed (see video below).
