Six entering Greater Utica Sports Hall of Fame
UTICA — Six outstanding athletes will be inducted into the Greater Utica Sports Hall of Fame when the organization holds its 35th annual ceremony in October. Five-time Olympic track and field medalist Irving Baxter, star basketball players Michele Davis and Leroy Witherspoon, NCAA champion swimmers Emily Lesher and Alison Lesher Migonis, her twin sister, and NBA broadcaster Tim Roye make up the GUSHOF Class of 2024.

HERKIMER — Herkimer College tied for second place in the final 2023-24 Daktronics Cup standings, the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators announced. Established in 2004, the Daktronics Cup recognizes excellence in two-year college athletics based on success in championship competition across all sports. A first-place finish warrants 20 points, second-place 19 points, and so forth.
