The first two games in this series were completely dominated by the Rockets, but the last two have been decided by a combined 3 points including a one-point loss the Flames suffered as an FCS program under former head coach Danny Rocco. Halifax, Madison Heights, Amherst win DYB state championships in Appomattox
Halifax, Madison Heights and Amherst left town last week as winners of the 2024 Virginia State DYB Tournament held July 5-10 at at the Appomattox County Community Park. Halifax won the Ozone Division 1 (ages 11-12) trophy with an 11-0 victory over Appomattox. Madison Heights captured the AAA Minors Division I (ages 9-10) trophy with an 11-5 win over Goochland. Amherst won Ozone Division II (ages 11-12) with an 11-1 win over Clarksville.
