Wildcats Edged 1-0 at VMI in Season Opener
LEXINGTON, VA. - The Davidson women's soccer team out-shot VMI 15-5 but ultimately was edged 1-0 in its season opener on the road Thursday. Emma Rice recorded the difference-maker for the Keydets, scoring VMI's goal in the 81st minute on a long ball to the high left corner just out of the reach of starting goalkeeper Emily Smith.

With a 9-4 finish last season, the Hilltoppers are ready for more success in 2024. This year, they return 12 starters, including a deep wide receiving corps and senior quarterback Max Calloway. Nahshon Wilson, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound quarterback from St. Michaels the Archangel in Virginia, has established himself as a dynamic dual-threat on the field. Lynchburg councilmembers call for unity as local tensions affect citizens
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Following the chaos at Tuesday's special meeting of Lynchburg City Council, some on council are trying to move forward. In that meeting, council voted 4-3 to censure councilmen Jeff Helgeson and Martin Misjuns for allegations of breaking attorney-client confidentiality, regarding a lawsuit involving Vice Mayor Chris Faraldi.
