A driver from Monticello was injured Tuesday afternoon in Elk River when the cement truck he was operating tipped over while making a turn.

Patrick Anthony Guzman, 46, of Monticello suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Guzman, who was behind the wheel of a 2001 International cement truck, was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 10 in Elk River, making a left turn to go southbound on state Highway 101 when the truck tipped over at approximately 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the accident report.

Members of the Elk River police and fire departments responded, along with an Elk River Ambulance crew and MN DOT, the report said.

Road conditions were dry at the time, the driver was wearing his seat belt and alcohol was not involved, the patrol said.
