Colorado River officials propose tracking conserved water
Water managers in the upper Colorado River basin took another step this week toward a more formal water conservation program that they say will benefit the upper basin states. Representatives from Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and New Mexico unanimously passed a motion Wednesday at a meeting of the Upper Colorado River Commission to explore creating a way to track, measure and store conserved water in Lake Powell and other upper basin reservoirs.

The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning about strong to severe thunderstorms in southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle. There is a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for isolated severe storms today. The best threat is in far southeast Wyoming and the southern Panhandle. If we can get storms to form, they will likely have 2+ inch hail and up to 70mph winds. Best timing for today will be early afternoon through early evening.

Cooler temperatures, storms expected this weekend
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A cold front sweeping across southeastern Wyoming today will bring strong to severe thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne. A cold front moving through the area will turn winds to the north for a time, followed by a secondary cold front bringing colder air by early evening. These conditions set the stage for thunderstorms mainly from Sidney to Cheyenne.
