HENDERSON Ky. (WEHT) — The Fourth of July holiday is still a few days away, but one area church held its celebration early.

The Morganfield First Baptist Church held a freedom fest Monday night.

The church offered the community games, food trucks, activities, and more.

But church officials tell Eyewitness News the companionship and faith the event brings is at the forefront of their minds.

“Honestly, you couldn’t beat the weather tonight. And so kind of the way our community works is there’s a lot of other events coming together but really what this event really is, it’s a couple of our churches in our community coming together really just to be the hands and feet of Jesus and also celebrate the independence of our country.” said Morganfield First Baptist Church Senior Pastor Cole Caven.
