Change of venue request filed in Kohberger case

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Attorneys for the man accused of killing four University of Idaho students want the trial moved.

Bryan Kohberger’s defense team is officially asking for a change of venue.

The change of venue motion made public Tuesday argues that people in Latah County where the murders happened have been corrupted by media coverage.

The defense wants the trial moved to Boise County, but families of the murder victims say that would create a hardship to travel that far for the proceedings.

The trial is scheduled to start next June.
