Numerous local school districts to see money for improvements
(25News Now) - Eighteen school districts in the Heart of Illinois will see nearly $8 million for needed improvements to classrooms and schools. State Sen. Dave Koehler (D-Peoria) said the money comes from the 2017 Illinois Senate Democrat-backed evidence-based funding formula — an overhaul of the way the state funds K-12 education.
Illinois Central College sees increase in enrollment
EAST PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Illinois Central College announced on Thursday that it has seen an increase in opening day enrollment. According to a news release from ICC, as of the first day of class, 8,008 students enrolled at ICC. This is a 5.1% increase from the fall 2023 semester.

ICC enrollment rebounds after pandemic slide
EAST PEORIA (25News Now) - Illinois Central College is recovering from a loss in enrollment during the pandemic. Colleges across the country experienced a decline in students following COVID-19′s arrival. According to the Community College Research Center of Columbia University, 850,000 fewer students enrolled in community colleges alone in fall 2021 than in 2019.
Kettering University announces spring 2024 dean's list
Kettering University congratulates more than 240 students named to the spring 2024 dean's list. The dean's list recognizes overall academic performance based on the student's term grade point average (GPA). To be eligible for the dean's list, students must satisfy the following requirements: be a degree-seeking student with a minimum term grade point average of 3.5, no grades below B, and a minimum of 16 earned credits for the term.
