Police reports

• A Mount Airy woman has been arrested on charges of hit and run and driving impaired, according to city police reports.

Stephanie Dollyhigh Combs, 43, of 485 Old U.S. 52-South, was encountered by officers on Grove Lane near Park Drive on May 14 during the investigation of the hit-and run incident that had occurred at an unspecified location on May 4.

During her interaction with police last week, Combs allegedly was found to be driving impaired at that time. Testing revealed her blood-alcohol level to be 0.20 %, nearly triple the legal limit for getting behind the wheel.

Combs was held in the Surry County Jail under a $1,000 secured bond and slated for a June 10 appearance in District Court.

• Destany Nicole Childress, 35, of 120 Dumont Lane, Pilot Mountain, was charged with larceny and possession of stolen goods last Wednesday, stemming from an incident at an unspecified business in Mount Airy where she allegedly stole merchandise.

Childress was jailed under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to be in Surry District Court on June 10.

• Jerel Cartez Bailey, 34, of 407 Pine Terrace Drive, No. 44, was incarcerated under a $20,000 secured bond on May 2, when he was served with outstanding warrants for three felony counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and a misdemeanor larceny charge, which had been filed by Surry County authorities.

Connie Marie Greene of Whistlers Cove Court is listed as a victim. Bailey is facing a June 3 District Court date.

• A break-in was discovered at a commercial/office building in the 1100 block of South Main Street on May 1. A door was pried open with an unknown object, causing damage of $200, with nothing listed as missing.

Malik Moubayed of Greensboro is listed as the victim of the crime.
