Teen facing attempted murder charge for deadly Beecher shootout
MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) - An 18-year-old man is facing three charges for the deadly shootout involving a group of teens in the Beecher area last month. Court records show 18-year-old Cordell Warwick Allen was arraigned this week on an attempted murder charge and two weapons charges related to the June 25 incident in Hilton Lane.

Crusaders for Children Michigan to hold Family Fun Day to unite the community
A family- oriented event will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Covenant Hills Camp and Retreat in Otisville. The festivities are being sponsored by The Crusaders for Children Michigan, along with help from many local businesses. The non-profit organization was originally scheduled to participate in the Blueberry Festival in Otter Lake this weekend but opted to withdraw. Several vendors quickly followed suit after learning of the circumstances which were reported on earlier this week by the Tribune; the Crusaders then quickly went to work to secure a new location.
Flint man sentenced for dumping paint on girlfriend's property
FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) - A Flint man who has been found guilty of domestic assault in which he did more than $100,000 in damage will spend up to 20 years in prison. Court records show 63-year-old Arthur Humphreys was sentenced on Monday to a minimum of 57 months in prison to a maximum of 20 years. Humphreys was credited with 342 days of time served.
