MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) — Mount Pleasant police officers responded Tuesday to a report of an infant found in a backyard pool, according to the agency.

Responding officers tended to the infant before taking it to East Cooper Medical. According to an incident report, when police spoke with an individual at the home, they stated they were watching TV with the juvenile when, 10 minutes later, he discovered the infant outside.

Police learned the living room door was broken, had a hole, and could be pushed open.

Mount Pleasant Police Department spokesperson Ashley Croy did not release the child’s condition. According to the report, no charges have been filed in this case.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department is the assisting agency in this case.
