Tornado hit West End of Louisville, National Weather Service reports
An EF1 tornado hit Louisville's West End during a round of storms Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service determined. "After reports of damage we sent a survey crew out to west Louisville along Woodland Ave. between Catapla St. and Cypress St. Preliminary info is an EF1 tornado with winds of 95 mph around 28th St. and Woodland," the NWS said in a statement posted to its account on X, formerly Twitter, shortly before 6 p.m. ...

Crystal Rogers case; judge makes decision on Steve Lawson’s charges
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — On the ninth anniversary of her disappearance, there is an update in the Crystal Rogers case. Trial will move forward for one of the three men charged in the disappearance of Crystal Rogers. Defendant Steve Lawson filed a motion for his charges to be dismissed, claiming he was promised immunity when he talked to police. But a judge has ruled his statements and information were inconsistent and he did not meet the prosecutor’s requirements for the immunity agreement.
