Four persons were seriously injured Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash that resulted in charges for the driver and the deployment of four ambulances to the scene, which was near Highways 38 and 95 near the Wright and Texas counties line, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said a 2004 Lexus driven southbound on Highway 95 by Hayden R. Morgan, 22, traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a MoDOT sign and then a tree.

Two Texas County Memorial Hospital, one Osage County ambulance and a Mercy ambulance were sent to the scene just as tornadic weather was reported in the region at about 4:50 p.m.

Three juveniles, girls ages 13 and 14 from Mountain Grove and Vanzant, and a Mountain Grove boy, 14, were sent to Cox South in Springfield.

The driver also was transported to Cox South. Everyone was wearing a seat belt except the driver. The vehicle was totaled. He faces several charges: felony DWI resulting in three serious physical injuries, three counts of felony second-degree assault, misdemeanor careless and imprudent driving resulting in a motor vehicle crash and wearing no seat belt.

At the scene were Tpr. Nathan Poynter, Cpl. Travis Brown, Cpl. Stacy Crewse, Tpr. Justin Dedmon, Wright County Sheriff’s Department and Northern Wright County Fire Department.
