DALEVILLE, Ind. — Police said a Muncie man was driving around three young children in his vehicle despite never being issued a driver’s license and admitting to taking fentanyl earlier in the day.

Leethan M. Turner, 22, was arrested on Tuesday night on preliminary charges of neglect of a dependant and possession of a narcotic drug, both felonies. He also faces a possible misdemeanor charge of operating without a license.

According to court documents, a Daleville police officer pulled Turner over on State Road 67 after clocking his vehicle traveling 68 mph in a 55 mph zone.

The officer said Turner had no driver’s license and admitted to never having acquired one.

Three young children were reportedly in the vehicle with Turner, the officer said.

As Turner was being arrested, he allegedly admitted to having approximately 50 fentanyl pills in his vehicle. Turner also reportedly admitted to using fentanyl earlier in the day.

Court records show Turner has been repeatedly cited for driving without ever having received a license.

The Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office will determine what, if any, charges will be filed against Turner.
