The largest tiny home festival in the region is about to roll out the welcome mat in Brighton. The Colorado Tiny House Festival will be July 12-14 at Riverdale Regional Park. “This tiny home show blends the spirit of the tiny living movement with the most up-to-date information on going tiny, simplifying your life, minimalistic living, and living greener,” according to a news release. “Unique small living structures will be spread throughout the Colorado Tiny House Festival grounds and include an assortment of professional and do-it-yourself builds including tiny homes on wheels, a 3D printed tiny home, accessory dwelling units, also known as ADUs, skoolies, converted vans, unique recreational vehicles, and more.”

In Virginia, Drinking in public or offering another person alcohol in a public space is prohibited. This is a class 4 Misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $250.00. Under a new law that goes into effect on July 1, this will change to a degree.WDBJ7 reports that the prohibition on drinking or offering an alcoholic beverage to someone else in public will no longer apply under the following conditions.

Aurora’s pallet shelters for people experiencing homelessness, which only allow a maximum 30-day stay, have been cycling the same individuals in and out, city staff told council members Thursday. Many return to street encampments when their time in the pallet shelter runs out, Jessica Prosser, homeless services director for the city, said. Then, the city sweeps the encampment again, and they get to come back to the shelter for another 30 days, Prosser explained. This process can repeat multiple times.

Billionaire Joe Ricketts has ordered crews to immediately stop construction of his long-planned Sublette County luxury resort, and restore the area to its natural condition. A project that would have made a tourist destination out of the tiny, sleepy Hoback River basin community of Bondurant has been called off because of protective wildlife stipulations that abbreviated the construction season. Ricketts sought an exemption from the seasonal restrictions, which he claimed in a memo obtained by WyoFile would have increased the cost of building the high-end all-inclusive resort by $60 million to $100 million, but his request was denied .

Cathy Alderman, spokesperson for the Coalition, said the former Clarion 200 W. 48th Ave, will be called Renewal Village. Renewal Village should open by the end of August and start leasing in September, Alderman said. In the meantime, the Coalition is finishing renovations to the property.
