UPDATE: Woman arrested in deadly Burlington shooting

UPDATE:

The Burlington Police have arrested a woman in connection with a deadly shooting overnight outside a Church Street nightclub.

There was no indication Saturday night of the charges Aaliyah Johnson, 22, is facing. Investigators also didn’t say where she lives. However, they said Johnson had a .45-calibre pistol in her possession when she was arrested just after the shooting.

The incident took place just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday outside of Red Square. Police say Teville Williams, 30, of Stowe attacked Johnson inside the club. Employees forced both of them to leave via separate doors. Once they were both outside, authorities accuse Johnson of shooting Williams several times. Williams died at University of Vermont Medical Center.

The Burlington Police Department says one person is dead after an early morning shooting outside of Red Square.

According to police someone was struck and killed just after midnight outside of the Church Street bar.

Chief Jon Murad described it as a homicide involving two adults but couldn’t give us any more details at this point.

He said police are in the early stages of this investigation and additional information will be released later in the day.
