Country fans and rodeo stands
The Coos County Fair and Rodeo has been bringing together local agriculture, crafts, industry and business since its inception in 1912. Beginning next week Tuesday, July 23rd and running through Saturday, July 27th the fair gates will open for all ages to experience the hard work of our local community. Chess Tournament for all ages, all skill levels August 3rd
Saturday, August 3rd at the 5th Street Park in Coquille, the Coquille Chess Club will host a fun chess tournament/potluck. Arrive at 9:30 a.m. The tournament is nonrated so no USCF membership fee required. This is a chance for family members to try out their chess skills alon with our scholastic players. Badminton, squirt guns and fun outdoor games will also be available between rounds. Expect to play five rounds of chess. Prizes will be outdoor toys. $5.00 registration fee. Hotdogs and condiments will be provided for players and families. Preregistration with drnancykeller@yahoo.com would be helpful to make sure we have enough hotdogs for all!
