The good vibes for the Tennessee Vols athletic department continued on Friday.

Just a few days after Tennessee baseball beat Texas A&M in the College World Series to claim the program's first national championship, the UT football team landed a commitment from one of their top recruiting targets.

2025 four-star edge rusher Mariyon Dye committed to Tennessee on Friday.

Dye, who took an official visit to UT last weekend, committed to Tennessee over LSU, Ohio State, and Purdue.

Dye told On3 that he committed to the Vols in large part because of his close relationship with the Tennessee coaching staff. Specifically, he likes that Tennessee's coaches talk to him often about things other than football.

“Coach Chop and coach Heupel literally call me everyday and don’t even talk to me about football," said Dye to On3 . "They check up on me and see how my day is going.”

Dye, 6-foot-5/270 lbs from Elkhart, IN, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 14 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 3 player in the state of Indiana.

The Vols now have 16 players committed to their 2025 recruiting class. Dye is Tennessee's sixth-highest rated commit.
