CHICAGO - Four people were discovered dead from gunshot wounds on a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Blue Line train early Monday morning, according to Forest Park authorities.

Forest Park Police received an emergency call shortly before 5:30 a.m., reporting multiple individuals shot aboard a train at the Forest Park CTA Blue Line station. Upon arrival, officers found four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Three of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the fourth was transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where they were later pronounced dead.

The suspect in the fatal shooting had already fled the scene by the time authorities arrived. However, police were able to identify a suspect through surveillance footage. Later, Chicago police apprehended an individual matching the suspect's description on a CTA Pink Line train. A firearm was also recovered during the arrest, though it remains unclear whether it was the weapon used in the shootings.

As of Monday morning, the case remains under active investigation. The CTA Blue Line service was temporarily suspended between Forest Park and Austin stations as Chicago authorities continued their investigation.

In a statement, Forest Park Police assured the public that the incident appears to be isolated, with no ongoing threat to the community. They encourage anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Forest Park Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
