Kentucky's new truancy law is now in effect
OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — Truancy is a real problem throughout the state of Kentucky. Last year close to 30 % of students were absent for 10% or more of the school year. Jared Revlett, the Public Information Officer for Owensboro Public Schools, says, "Recently, really since 2020, we’ve seen a growing number of truancy cases in our district and really across the state as a whole.”
