On Tuesday, the New Orleans Pelicans announced that they are promoting WNBA legend Swin Cash to Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations, making her one of the highest-ranked women in an NBA front office.

The Pelicans are currently undergoing significant changes in their organizational structure. Previously, Cash held the position of vice president of basketball operations and team development. However, with Bryson Graham assuming the role of general manager, the team is experiencing a major reorganization.

Cash joined the Pelicans organization in 2019, just before the team used its No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft to select Duke forward Zion Williamson.

Cash won two NCAAW national championships with the UConn Huskies before being selected as the No. 2 pick in the 2002 WNBA Draft by the Detroit Shock. In her 15 years in the WNBA, Cash became a three-time champion, a four-time All-Star, and a two-time All-Star MVP. Cash was also inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
