New Philadelphia man to go on trial in connection with fight at New Philadelphia residence
NEW PHILADELPHIA ‒ A New Philadelphia man will go on trial this week in connection with a fight at a residence within the city on Dec. 28. Jerry Davis, 52, is charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony. He appeared before Common Pleas Judge Elizabeth Lehigh Thomakos for a pre-trial hearing Monday.
Pedestrian Struck on I-77, New Philadelphia Patrol Investigating
The State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal incident on I-77 south. The accident occurred near bolivar Sunday morning involving a pedestrian who was struck and killed. New Philadelphia post trooper Roy Beach says the victim, 34-year-old Jonathan Mandala of Akron, apparently walked onto the highway from the right side of the lanes and was hit by a flatbed truck just before 10 a.m.
Truck driver charged with homicide and assault for I-70 bus crash that killed six
A truck driver has been arrested and charged in connection with a multiple-fatality crash that occurred in Ohio late last year. Truck driver Jacob McDonald, 61, was arrested last week and charged with 6 counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, 9 counts of vehicular assault and 11 counts of assault, 10TV reports.
