New Providence to Celebrate Independence Day with Fireworks and Festivities on July 3
NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — The borough will kick off Independence Day celebrations early with its annual fireworks display on Wednesday night, July 3. Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy an evening of fun that includes live music, fireworks, sidewalk chalk activities, and giveaways. The event is sponsored by the Borough of New Providence. Attendees are encouraged to grab some dinner and stay for the festivities. New Providence School District Seeks Funding for Baseball/Softball Field Renovations
NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – New Providence School District is planning to undertake a large project of renovating its baseball and softball fields. Athletic Director Vincent Carangelo attended the Thursday, June 27 Board of Education (BOE) meeting to explain the scope and funding for the project. SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The threat of rain bumped up the start time of the Scotch Plains Independence Day fireworks on Saturday, June 29, at the historic Shade Rest Golf & Country Club, America's first Black-owned golf course. With storms on the way, township officials moved the start time to 8:45 p.m., about 15 minutes before the estimated start time.
