TAPinto Plainfield to Ensure BOE Meetings are Available to Public; Watch the August Meeting
PLAINFIELD, NJ — Since around the start of the pandemic, the City of Plainfield has put each City Council meeting on its YouTube channel for public viewing, on demand, at any time. All the meetings garner hundreds of views and allow the public to watch at their own convenience—on YouTube, the most accessible platform—unbounded by local cable schedules or their availability to watch the meeting live. The Plainfield Public Schools have only streamed and published four meetings over the past year—two budget meetings and two business meetings during the months of March and April. TAPinto Plainfield believes that public meetings should be subject to greater transparency. While we already record audio of every Plainfield Board of Education meeting, we will now record both audio and video. We plan to publish all Plainfield Board of Education meetings that don't end up on YouTube.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER We apologize for the late upload of this August 13 meeting—the voting portion after the executive session—which contains the Superintendent's presentation of the district's goals for this school year.
