A fire tore through an apartment building on 5th Avenue Tuesday night, resulting in injuries to more than a dozen people as firefighters pulled victims from the windows. The FDNY says the fire started just before 9 p.m. inside 881 5th Avenue. The building is located between 38th and 39th streets. Upon arrival, first responders encountered heavy fire on the second floor. According to FDNY officials, a total of 13 individuals sustained injuries including two firefighters. Fortunately, all are expected to recover. The building houses apartments on the upper floors and a few businesses on the ground level, including a deli and two restaurants. It's not clear if the businesses sustained any damage. Citizen App footage captured the harrowing scene as firefighters rescued trapped residents, some of whom were seen standing on the fire escapes. The fire marshal will now determine the exact origin and cause of the fire. "
