Bo Nix made another strong case for the Broncos starter job on Sunday against the Packers.

Nix completed 8 of 9 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown as he continues to make an impression on the Broncos brass.

He added 12 yards on the ground on three carries in what ended up being a 27-2 preseason win for the Denver at Empower Field.

While Nix performed well, Broncos head coach Sean Payton said he would not announce a starter after the game.

Nix’s touchdown throw – a 2-yard completion to Tim Patrick – came in the second quarter with 13:14 left on the clock.

The 12th overall pick in this year’s draft rolled to the right and connected with Patrick with a pass just as he was over the goal line for the touchdown.

Nix also led the Broncos down the field for a field goal on their first possession, though he missed a chance to get a touchdown when a throw that was originally ruled to be a TD was nullified after it was reviewed.

The rookie had been over the line of scrimmage when he threw the ball thus negating the potential touchdown.

It was a far cry from the game that former Jets first-round pick Zach Wilson had on Sunday night against Green Bay.

Jarrett Stidham went 7-for-11 for 65 yards and threw a pick.

Earlier this week, Payton did praise Wilson for the way he’s responded to his coaching.

“I like what I’m seeing. That’s one of the pluses about bringing someone like him in here,” Payton said, according to Denver Broncos on SI.
