Rangers Rivalry With Devils Prime To Make A Comeback

The New York Rangers rivalry with the New Jersey Devils should be back on better than ever.

It was just one season ago when the Devils defeated the Rangers in a grueling seven-game series to advance to the second-round of the playoffs.

A rivalry that had existed for years, finally re-emerged, but it would be put on hold once again after the Devils failed to make the playoffs this past season while the Rangers won the Presidents’ Trophy and made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Final.

However, the Devils made some changes this offseason to bolster their roster. Their biggest move was trading for goalie Jacob Markstrom as consistent goaltending is something the Devils have not had over the past couple seasons.

New Jersey also signed Brett Pesce, Brendan Dillon and Thomas Tatar while hiring Sheldon Keefe to be their next head coach.

The Devils are in prime position to make the playoffs once again and compete for the Metropolitan Division title.

Meanwhile, the Rangers are bringing back nearly the same roster to the one they had last year, so it’s safe to say New York remains a top team in the Eastern Conference.

Mixed with young and veteran talent, the Rangers are a force to be reckoned with and are far better than they were back during the 2022-23 season.

Both the Rangers and Devils have superstar players that will make their head-to-head matchups extremely exciting to watch.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see these two teams right back in the playoffs facing off against each other.
