Suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann returned to court on Tuesday. Heuermann’s defense attorney says he will ask the court to separate the charges in the indictment – possibly grouping the Gilgo Four and other two victims into separate trials. “There is definitely going to be a motion to sever the six individuals," said attorney Michael Brown. Additional discovery was provided by prosecutors to the defense in court. Thirty terabytes of information were turned over on Tuesday, including 1,600 lab reports and 60,000 documents from Heuermann’s home office. Heuermann’s dog, Stuie, was also in the courtroom. The pup is now a service dog for Heuermann’s wife, Asa Ellerup. Heuermann will be back in court on Oct. 16. No trial date has been set, and he has pleaded not guilty to the charges he is facing. "
