Gloucester parent wins free speech case against schools
A Massachusetts’ Appeals Court sided with a Gloucester parent on Monday who recorded his conversations with school officials on video posted it on Facebook. The case has drawn attention locally and nationally, particularly from free speech advocates, when the district demanded Berge take the video down and threatened legal action in 2022.
NSCC Offering Free Machinist Training Program at Essex Tech
This week North Shore Community College (NSCC) in Danvers unveiled a new funded program that offers free advanced manufacturing training and eduction for local residents. The program is designed to respond to the increased, unmet demand for skilled workers in the region. Job placement rates directly from the program have been over 80% with starting hourly wages for machinists of $22 - $25, and annual salaries ranging from $32,000 - $50,000+.

Pentucket Students Participate in German Exchange Program
WEST NEWBURY – Superintendent Justin Bartholomew is pleased to share that 12 Pentucket students are participating in the German American Partnership Program (GAPP). The German American Partnership Program (GAPP), supported by the U.S. State Department and the German Federal Foreign Office, allows students from the U.S. and Germany to visit a secondary school in the other country. More than 750 U.S. schools and 400,000 American and German students have participated in the program since its establishment in 1972. It is the largest bilateral exchange program between the U.S. and another country.
