Memorial Day ceremonies in Yonkers adapt to weather

The City of Yonkers honoring fallen soldiers today with Memorial Day ceremonies but some changes have been made due to the current forecast.

City officials began their day at City Hall with their Memorial Day ceremony at 9 a.m. It was originally supposed to happen at Veterans Memorial Plaza but instead took place in City Hall's ceremonial courtroom on the fourth floor.

Afterward, city officials and residents lined up at Schultze Field for the Crestwood Memorial Day Parade. Kickoff is schedule for at 10 a.m. The parade is set to go through Crestwood all the way to the American Legion Plaza.

Officials do say in case of heavy rain, the parade will be canceled, but they have not said anything just yet.
