ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Construction is under way for a five-story affordable housing building in Rochester.

The 164-apartment structure is being built on West Main Street where a parking lot stands now. The units will be available for folks earning at or below 80-percent of the area median income.

95 apartments will be reserved for those at-risk for homelessness, including veterans and those who’ve recently been released from incarceration.

“Center City Courtyard” will have free Wi-fi, a fitness center, parking and office space for supportive service providers.

HELPDevCO and CSD Housing, LLC are the developers.

“Supportive housing is our mission and what we believe, everybody deserves a good house, and no matter if they have had past challenges or other difficulties, they deserve quality housing, and that’s a stabilizing force them to stabilize the rest of their lives as well,” said Whitney McClary, Development Director of CSD Housing.
