    Teen Anti-Violence Alliance members celebrate success

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Teens participating in an anti violence program say they’re inspired and motivated to find alternatives to violence — and they could be the next generation of doctors, nurses and surgeons.

    Members of the Teen Anti-Violence Alliance received their certificates for their hard work Tuesday, after spending eight weeks in and out of URMC operating rooms.

    The students say they’ve learned how to use their words.

    “Words can be powerful,” TAVA member Eduardo Rios-Santiago said. “Whatever I say, if it impacts somebody then that impact can impact somebody else.”
