ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – In preparation for the annual ‘Bridging the Gap’ event on September 7, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Baptist Ministers Alliance of Greater Rochester to host a pre-event press conference.

The event aims to bring the community together to connect with law enforcement and the church.

In their 8th year, MCSO and the Baptist Minister’s Alliance are using this as an opportunity to speak with community members and show the good that can come from a high-quality relationship.

“There’s more positive that happens on a daily basis than people see. The people around here are wonderful people, and you’ll see that on Saturday. We see that on a daily basis,” Deputy Mike Favata said.

The event will feature a lot of fun things for families to do including a bounce house and SWAT course, free haircuts and a lot of great food.
