ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Dunkin’ teamed up with Make-A-Wish Western New York Wednesday to celebrate the launch of the Make-A-Wish donut charitable campaign.

Now through September 15, all customers who donate a dollar to to Make-A-Wish at participating Dunkin’ shops will be given a free specially crafted donut topped with white icing and blue sprinkles in honor of Make-A-Wish.

The program aims to take the wishes of local Western New York children and make them come true.

Henry, who is battling a brain tumor, was given a Make-A-Wish trip back in May.
His mother Julie spoke about what Make-A-Wish has done for their family.

“Theres a lot of fear and uncertainty as a parent to have your child undergo that kind of treatment,” she said. “For Henry, he did a really good job and stayed pretty upbeat. We were really proud of him. But it took a lot of energy out of him. He was very tired, his legs hurt, so that was hard to see. I think the trip for our family really helped us stop, and reset after he finished, start focusing more on fun things, more on just being together as a family and doing things that we love.”

Make-A-Wish has granted more than 3,700 life-changing wishes to children in the Western New York area.
